Far from civilisation, Upper Kodayar is an attractive location. The location is at the border between Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the southernmost Western ghats. These areas, which are a part of the Kalakad-Mundanthurai natural life hold, are referred to as the Pothigai slopes.

Manimuthar Dam is the first stop. After a few kilometres of riding through the woods, we cross the Manimuthar Falls. There is a Forest Department check post at the dam where we show our letter of permission to enter the haven. A small one stood in contrast to the falls in Kuttralam and Papanasam.

Ancient Fort Marunthukkottai is situated close to Thuckalay Town in Tamilnadu's Kanyakumari District. The Marunthukkottai was used to make and store gunpowder, as well as to provide medical care for injured soldiers. King Bala Marthanda Varma (1729–1758) commissioned his renowned European General Delaney to construct this fort (1715-1777). It was situated atop the hillside, 895 feet above sea level. The fort, which was well-defended with bastions and gun holes, covered an area of about an acre.

The fort has an entrance with a stone framing on its eastern side. The huge door, which was roughly 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide, had an inscription on it. A 15 X 10 X 8 foot stone mandapam could be found inside the fort. All of these were in ruins today. The mandapam and the fort walls have suffered significant damage from the unchecked growth of trees and their ramifying roots. One can view Padmanabhapuram's beautiful natural landscape from this fort.

9. Eco Park of Kanyakumari

It lies in Kanyakumari and was started by the department of horticulture with the goals of "attracting more tourists, maintaining a balanced eco system, and assisting researchers and students academically." A few kilometres separate this park from the National Highway 47 roundabout. On April 5, 2018, the chief minister Edapadi K. Palaniswami inaugurated this vast park, which spans 15 acres and contains many different kinds of flowers and trees.

The great entryway brings you to the rock waterfalls, and it similarly leads you across a short wooden bridge so you can see Mother Nature's beauty from every angle. Within the park, an unique area is reserved for children's experiences. The play area is small and contains all the exciting rides to keep your child entertained while they play outside. The parent caregivers can unwind while watching their kids play from the concrete seats positioned around the play area.

The park has many areas dedicated to different plant species, giving the impression that there are parks within parks. For instance, a bamboo garden, palm court, a cosy, undeveloped home, and many more. You might be surprised to see certain common, "unimportant" plants giving you charisma that you had never thought before. Due to its design and mood, those of you from Chennai will undoubtedly think of this park as a little "semmozhi poonga."
