A classic South Indian treat made from shredded chapatis or parathas is Egg Kothu Paratha. Maravalli Kizhangu

Maravalli Kizhangu is a tasty and nutritious snack made from tapioca root. It is also known as kuchi kizhangu and mara seeni kizhangu in Tamil Nadu.

We used to refer to them as "Elurai kizhangu" in our community, but I knew that wasn't the correct name, so this morning I searched for other Tamil names for tapioca stems. It wasn't until then that I learned that one of the names for the tapioca root is "Ezhilai Kizhangu."

I imagine that over time became Elurai Kizhangu in regional slang. When tapioca stem is in season, this recipe is prepared as a nighttime snack or as a side dish for breakfast. It takes little time at all to prepare and is delicious, healthful, and uncomplicated.Fish Curry is the perfect combination with the boiled tapioca.

Jackfruit

Green jackfruits have the advantage of having a mild flavour that allows them to absorb herbs, spices, and other flavourings.

As a result, dishes containing shredded chicken, pulled pig, or other meat can be cooked using the fruit instead of the meat.

Many different meals, both savoury and sweet, can be cooked with jackfruit. And the seeds are frequently roasted or boiled before being eaten as snacks. They have a flavour and taste that is comparable to macadamia or chestnuts.

Susiyam

Susiyam is a popular traditional dessert in South India, particularly in the Tamil Nadu state. On the outside, it has a crispy texture, and the inside is soft and sweet. Because it is simple to make and healthy, my mother-in-law used to make this delicious Susiyam recipe most evenings for tea.

It is made with channa dal/Kadalai paruppu and jaggery so we get all the benefits of dal. I cooked this treat for one of my Chinese friends, Gia, and she loved it so much that she took some with her that day. I'm going to give you a simple recipe for susiyam that you can also prepare with green gramme or paasiparuppu.
