Pechiparai Dam    

      Pechiparai Dam is a man made water body, arranged close to the Pechiparai town in Kanyakumari. This repository appropriates water of the Pechiparai Dam, which is worked across the Kodayar River. 

Construction

     Pechiparai Dam was built somewhere in the range of 1897 and 1906, when Maharaja Moolam Thirunal managed Travancore. Minchin, an European designer, was behind the planning and execution of this stone work dam. The development of this dam and supply was done a mile beneath the gathering point of Kuttiyar, Kallar and Chittar - the three feeders of the Kodayar River.

Capacity of Pechiparai Dam 

      Having a profundity of 14.63 meters and catchment area of 207.19 sq km, this supply serves the prerequisite of consumable water and water system in the locale.
